Hurry! Time is running out to enter the DPG/Wetpixel Masters Underwater Imaging Competition.
Formerly known as the Our World Underwater International Underwater Photo and Video Competition, under a new partnership between Wetpixel and DivePhoto Guide, this highly heralded photo and video event will continue for its 15th year.
Since its inception in 2006, the Our World Underwater (OWU) Underwater Photo and Video Competition has grown into one of the biggest and most-respected photography competitions celebrating the beauty of the ocean, along with the art of underwater photography in the world.
So, what should we expect from the DPG/Wetpixel Masters Underwater Imaging Competition?
Well, for one this year’s round to continue incorporating the same high standards originally set in place during the past 3 years of OWU complete with a judging panel comprised of some of the most recognized underwater image-makers.
For 2020, judges presiding over the DPG/Wetpixel Masters Underwater Imaging Competition include: David Doubilet, Stephen Frink, Erin Quigley, Scott “Gutsy” Tuason, Keri Wilk and Tony Wu.
Then there are the prizes to be awarded to a host of the Underwater photographers – from novice to professionals provided by a stellar array of sponsors.
This year’s prize fund carries an overall value of $55,000 dollars, which include a range of world-class dive trips to compilation of photo gear from Isotta, Ikelite and Inon, plus a cash prize of $1,000 to the Best of Show winner.
Winners will be revealed here on UnderwaterCompetition.com and published by supporting media partners worldwide shortly thereafter. The entry fees are $10 per image or video entered. As with all UnderwaterCompetition.com events, 15% of entry proceeds will be donated to marine conservation efforts.
Deadline for submissions is coming quick

The DPG/Wetpixel Masters Underwater Imaging Competition 2020 is open for entries now, with a closing date of 8 February 2020.
Also, don’t forget, the DPG/Wetpixel Masters competition is the first act of a unique series of global photo competitions which includes the DEEP Indonesia competition, which brings the prize pool up another $50,000 dollars’ worth of world-class dive trips. Winners also take pride in being named one of the world’s best underwater photographers, and their images will be exposed to millions of readers of dive, travel and photography magazines and websites worldwide.
