Photo Competitions to Enter in 2020

-

While we are going through these tough times with the idea of the next opportunity to dive feeling like we are watching a distant ship’s smoke of the horizon, there are still avenues we photographers go to keep us motivated. Top of the list is taking the time to dig and sort through your image library for possible contenders for this year’s round of underwater photography competitions.

Two days ago, I posted here info on the United Nations World Oceans Day Photo Competition.

In addition to it, here are three more competitions for both amateur and professional alike that are well worth investigation.

Nature’s Best Photo Competition

One of the most prestigious is the Nature’s Best Photo Competition

While not exclusively an underwater photo competition with categories divided up between: African Wildlife, Animal Antics, Art In Nature, Birds, Conservation, Landscapes, Outdoor Adventure, Polar Passion, Wildlife and Video, there is also an Ocean Views division.

To enter, you need to act quickly as the closing date for submissions is April 30th, 2020.

For more info, you can download the entry guidelines here

Next is the Ocean Art Safe Under the Sea Underwater Photo Competition

Ocean Art Safe Under the Sea Underwater Photo Competition

Put together by Underwater Photography Guide and Bluewater Photo and Travel. This year’s competition is going to be a little different.

In addition to featuring over $10,000 in prizes, Ocean Art Safe Under the Sea Underwater Photo Competition has pledged one quarter of the proceeds will be donated to the CDC Foundation and WHO Covid-19 Response Fund to Help Fight Coronavirus.

Open to all photographers, this Ocean Art competition will run in the same way as past contests. The only changes you might note that are different from 2019 Ocean Art competition is that they have removed the Novice categories and replaced them with a single Shipwrecks category.

The cutoff date for entries in the Ocean Art Safe Under the Sea competition is June 30th, 2020!
