A sea turtle suffering from cold-water shock has been rescued by the team from Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center.
Yesterday (Sunday 10 January), staff at Tidewater Yacht Marina in Virginia were alerted to a turtle that appeared to be in a bad way, which was trying to find some warmth in one of the marina basins.
The team from Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center responded to a call for assistance, and carefully removed the animal from the water.
The turtle was given a quick check-up in the aquarium van, where it showed the animal was in distress due to cold shock. It will now be treated in the aquarium to get it back to full fitness.
